I'm 41, too, (for a couple more months anyway). I was in 8th grade ('72-'73)
when UFO aired on Channel 5---the Cleveland ABC affiliate---on Sunday nights
(6:30 PM). I really loved it then (and still do) even though there were
maybe one or two people in my school that liked it. I made an alien out of
paper mache in art class as well as trying to duplicate the shado logo. My
best friend, a Star Trek fangave it a passing glance but finally gave it a
rousing thumbs up when the Beatle's GET BACK was played on one of the
episodes. Wasn't that one ORDEAL where Foster says he's taking some time off
to "let his hair down" and winds up being abducted? I got a cassette
recorder before it was cancelled and recorded LONG SLEEP. Not one of my
favorites but it was all I had to keep me going until the tape wore out.

I was in the SHADO USCC lead by "Colonel Dale Jones". I think it was in
California. I still have one of those "Handbooks" they published and even
put out one of my own entitled FLIGHT PATH in 1978 when I created the SHADO
GREAT LAKES COMMAND. That lasted about a year, then my firast love went sour
and I joined the Army....

Sorry to have gone on for so long. I guess Sue's message ended my own "long
sleep" in lurking mode. Back to the real world....unfortunately. Later...

WOW! That's the one I belonged to! I've still got almost everything they
sent me.

Is there anybody else that belonged to SHADO USCC?
