Re: SkyDiver Jet Re-Docking Procedure

Hi,

I believe in Sub Smash they explored Sky One's underwater capabilities as much
as anywhere else in the show.

They launched Sky One at a down angle. Straker said the angle was enough,
implying that any further down angle would make launch impossible. So, I
really don't think that Sky One has much capability as an independant sub. I
would surmise that redocking would probably be done on the surface.

Sky One could land, probably on skis rather like the old Convair Sea Dart:

And Skydiver would come up behind to dock on the surface.

In Sub Smash, the pilot of Sky One says that re-docking is impossible with
Skydiver such as it is. It's not clear if that's due to the fact that he's not
in communication with them, or if they would have to initiate the procedure.

Just a thought but I always speculated that small doors would open in Sky1's
lower fuselage and it would vertical land just like TB2 and then match up to
the Diver portion on the surface.

Nothing to back this up - just the way I imagined it when the series first
showed around 1970 on ATV.
