I actually saw on a models/figurines site a fellow who created an Ed Straker
action figure and one of the alien. Darn it! I can't remember where I saw them, but I stumbled onto buddy's site when I was looking for models and action figures by accident. They weren't that great - but they might be of interest to serious collectors. These figures were done as commissioned work and I have no idea how expensive they were. He also did figures of other s-f characters, and ships etc. I had my first Klingon Battle Cruiser when I was about 12-13, and later on I had other TOS models. I really got inot ocean liner models because of my fascination with the Titanic, Lusitania, etc. I've been looking for a WWI German sub model to go with the Lusitania model I have, as it was a German U-boat which delivered the Lusy's death torpedo. I'm also into battleships (Tirpitz etc) and I even glommed onto a couple of Trek character models (Scotty and Odo) although they are still in the box as yet! I wish there was more UFO stuff available - it would be cool to do a Moonbase model as a diorama. I have a Titanic hitting the iceberg diorama and a good friend of mine did the Titanic as it now looks in wreckage. I've seen pix of some great Skydiver and Interceptor dioramas lately on sites with convention photos. Super! Pam |
Hi Pam,
I think I've seen the figure models you refer to. The Italian UFO site has a list of some of the more rare kits http://www.ufotv.it/model_kit_miscella.htm Imai produced a plastic moonbase model - called 'UFO Thunderbird Secret Doom Center' probably complete with spring-loaded missiles and wheels on everything! There's some pics and info at http://www.ufotv.it/mk_imai.htm Do you have any addresses where I can see these SkyDiver/Interceptor dioramas? I'd love to see them! I've never gotten into ships - don't know why - I've built just about everything else! Actually - who am I kidding - most of my stuff is still in the box. :( Take care, great to hear from you again... I made a Poser CGI model of a UFO series alien. It is at http://www.buckrogers.demon.co.uk/3d/alienga.zip and also in the Poser Free Stuff on http://www.renderosity.com |

Hi Bruce - I think the diorama pix may just be on the ISHADO site I seem to
recall photos from either Project Foster or Project Ellis.....I must check out the site www.ufo.it etc. Could be interesting. I ordered my Imai model from Monsters in Motion last year. I admit it too is still in the box, so don't feel guilty on that! I'm just as bad. My husband collects car and fire engine models and has several stacked up unopened.... Ciao for now - Pam |
