That was an intriguing post. Just as the Trek animated series went all out
to explore strange new worlds, the original and subsequent live action
series had budget and reality constraints that Gerry Anderson's productions
also faced. I think having the nonspeaking aliens lends a much more sinister
tone to their presence and purpose.

In the War of the Worlds television series, humans were regarded as beneath
contact, mere insects to be swatted away to make colonization easier. As the
series progressed contact became inevitible, and I think that might have
happened had UFO continued...and maybe it will if/when UFO2 becomes a
reality.
