Another thing. Every version of this model I,ve seen (even Konami's) is totally wrong in design and finish. Its easy to replicate a mobile or an Interceptor with a degree of accuracy. However when it comes to the UFO model, manufacturer's seem to have absolutely no idea. Blimey even a professional Model maker specialising in Science Fiction models (sorry his name escapes me,but he worked on the film Alien and now builds models professionally) constructed a version of the UFO and it was totally inaccurate. This seems to be some form of incurable disease. I hope to put this right by supplying my own instructions on how to build the UFO model accurately and with minimum input using simple techniques anyone can use. If your interested keep an eye on my UFO related website: www.geocities.com/elder7uk I will post in the very near future (just need to get some time and photo's together) Mark UK [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

The reason it is not as easy to find is that it is difficult to manufacture by garage kit makers. Resin is easy to pour, but the UFO is little more than a central core with vanes running out to the "plectrums, covered by lexan. Thermal forming lexan is difficult without professional equipment. The kits available in the past have all been vacuum formed clear plastic, which is flimsy and difficult to trim and assemble. The other UFO vehicles are more easily created using traditional techniques and materials. AT |
