I don't think it was overacted, maybe over-scripted!!? Yes, I
agree this was an unfair representation of Freeman's ability to
command. The point of the ep. was to show how difficult command is,
but the scenarios created seem rather mundane/ unbelievable and
could have been more dramatic.

Compared to other episodes, Straker isn't around for Freeman to
disagree with and maybe one way to view this ep. is how important
those interactions were to the characterizations.

I guess Straker was impressed by her determination and this is what
attracted him to her. It can't be the obvious, because of what
happens in the bedroom. How many men in that situation would have
thrown her out before morning?? Virtually none, I suspect. Instead,
the bitterness with which he verbally assaults her momentarily
blinds him to her true feelings towards him. Shot himself in the
foot, I think!

But for me the real star in this ep. is Miss. Ealand. She gets some
great lines – "I didn't expect you back…so soon"
and " was there anything else, sir?" always makes me smile!
I wonder how the penultimate scene would have gone if we'd seen
Straker discussing the G6 with Miss. Ealand instead of Ford?
