Hey all - in terms of age - I'm 42+. I think we all glommed onto UFO (and
possibly Trek too) at impressionable ages - early teens. S-F readers are
often male, but being a female, I was considered "weird" by my female family
members and friends. Of course, I bugged em' by loving hockey, comic book
superheroes (my fav was The Incredible Hulk!), ships, the American space
program and mostly "boy-type" things. My father and grandfather encouraged
me in my interests - much to the chagrin of my mom who thought I should "act
like a lady" -- how infernally booooring that would have been..... Pam
