Hi Erick - hope you enjoy your models when you get them. I haven't built
mine as yet, but I'll get around to it someday. I have a ton of Trek models
and ocean liners so far. I collect a ton of stuff, and models and figures
are among them. I managed to glom onto a G.I. Joe version of JFK from his
PT-109 days - very nicely done and face is quite realistic. I'd been wanting
a G.I. Joe astronaut and space capsule for some time (over 30 yrs) and Toys
R Us finally started selling a retro astronaut/capsule Joe set last year. I
picked it up for less than half its original price because the box was a
little damaged.
I wish some company had created UFO action figures - rats! It would have
been cool to have little miniature Strakers, Freemans, Fosters, aliens to go
with the model ships etc, a la Trek, Star Wars, etc. I did order and will
soon receive a set of 9 inch Trek figures from a site on the Net - if anyone
is interested - I'll send out the site info after they arrive (I think I
accidentally deleted their last message to me about delivery). I've ordered
Spock, Kirk, Scotty, Sulu and Uhura for under $200 USD. Their Chekov was
only 5 inches tall, so I've asked them to be on the lookout for the 9 inch
version - I'd like ideally to have 12 inch versions - anybody know where to
get 'em?
Going back to UFO, it's a real shame the show didn't last longer because it
might have engendered more toys and memorabilia. The cards are nice if you
like cards, but I tend to prefer toy-type stuff myself...
Ciao for now - Pam
