Does the fact that Stingray and Captain Scarlet and Space 1999 are
all going to preceed UFO onto DVD mean that they are all more popular? Generally video companies are going to put to market those products with higher demand so this suggests that UFO rates down the list in priority. My main concern with this is that if previous sales of the above titles fall below the producers' expectations then later releases can often be cancelled. Let's keep out fingers crossed. I am really looking forward to seeing the full series of Stingray released uncut on DVD. Let's hope Carlton keep going with the other GA series. > There was a space traveler named Wright > Who liked to go faster than light > He started one day > In a relative way > And came back the previous night! > Dave Walsh > Harlington-Straker Sound Productions Are you talking about me? Coming home from vaction I traveled from Taipei to San Francisco. I left at 10:25pm and arrived at 4:50pm the same day. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! In the UK, I suspect that Carlton is trying to capitalize on the Thunderbirds revival by releasing other Supermarionation series quickly. It's also possible that UFO is being delayed because of the recent VHS release by Digital Entertainment... give those UFO fans some time to save their money so they can buy yet another set of UFO videos! In America, I have no idea why Thunderbirds is being released before UFO... poor judgement I guess, thinking that something which is successful in the UK will also be successful in America... >My main concern with this is that if previous sales of the above titles >fall below the producers' expectations then later releases can often >be cancelled. Rumor has it that the American UFO laserdiscs were cancelled partly due to poor sales of the previously released Space:1999 laserdiscs. If true, then we really need to hope for good sales on the upcoming Space:1999 DVDs, whether you like the show or not! -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Good example! ;-) TVJohn: "So it's crows nailed to doors and threatening letters now, eh?" Hamish: "And how do you know about that?" TVJohn: "Isobel told me about the letter." Hamish: "I'm just after telling Isobel!" TVJohn: "She knew already. Rory told her. And the postman told him. And Esme told Agnes about the crow on account of her niece Kirsty hearing Vicky tell Cameron at the barn." Hamish: "Ohhhhhonestly this place! Unbelievable!" TVJohn: "I know, I know. You can't clean your ferret's cage out here without it being on CNN." Dave Walsh Harlington-Straker Sound Productions [hidden email] http://members.home.net/darqnyt/index.html |
