UFO Fans - DON't Get ripped off.
The "UFO" acoustic gun listed on Ebay is not even a reproduction of the UFO prop - It is a sonic toy valued at about $ 20.00 - 40.00 to a toy gun collector. The bid already is at $ 227.00 - someone is REALLY getting ripped off. I am an avid UFO fan. I own one of the toy guns selling on Ebay as the UFO Acoustic gun. It is not - you can even look at the box packaging and see it does not list the Pistol as ANYTHING from UFO. The seller is using a GREAT - but deceptive marketing technique to sell this item at a High price to a UFO fan. Thanks for the heads-up, Gordon! I actually didn't think the gun on Ebay looked that much like the one on UFO. Although I could be wrong. I could probably spend HOURS looking for the screen captures with the gun in it on Marc's site. Easier to just throw in a UFO DVD, I would think. : ) Jeff [hidden email] wrote: UFO Fans - DON't Get ripped off. You might want to check the facts before accusing someone of ripping people
off. The story he's telling matches everything I've ever heard about this gun, and the photo in Dennis Nicholson's Memorabilia Guide matches the ones on the auction. I don't know the seller, but the story is correct. If you have a source for them for $20.00-$40.00, I wish you'd share. I have checked my facts pal. Like I said - I own one of the pistols. There are three or four variations of that mold and atachments for the variations. I have NEVER seen that gun offerred as a UFO collectable before. (I will admit I have not seen everything...but I would love to see the Price guide and description before passing a final judgement. I just don't want a UFO fan to buy this thing and then find out they have been had. I would question the production, manufacture, box art, and price guide before paying over two hundred dollars for it. There is even a made in China knockoff of that gun mold selling at many flea markets selling import toys. $ 5.00 each) If I knew people were that interested - I would have filled up a cart and sold them on Ebay for $ 100.00 each - but i could not do that to another UFO fan. If I find a source I will post it to the group for those interested - even if it is not a real UFO collectable.
Could someone find a link on the net showing this a valid UFO colectable? Item, Stock, and manufacture? If I am wrong - I will take the hit. I would love to be wrong on this ...someone has already bid over two hundred dollars on it. Ah, you admit that your ignorant of this then.
It's not a licensed collectable, but it is exactly what the seller says it is - your lack of knowledge on the subject notwithstanding. Not trying to be a jerk, just want the people of the list to know the facts. AT [hidden email] wrote: > I have checked my facts pal. Like I said - I own one of the pistols.
