Re: UFO to the rescue!

Pam McCaughey

I didn't have an illness personally when I discovered UFO Sept1970-summer
1971, but I was going through a very traumatic time which UFO helped me
through. My maternal grandparents almost died in a massive car accident in
May 1971, and my family and I were forced by circumstances to move from our
home in the province of New Brunswick, to Prince Edward Island, the nearest
Canadian province next door where my grandparents lived. Their
life-threatening injuries kept them in hospital for many months, and when my
grandmother was able to come home again, I was assigned her nurse. My job
was to sleep in the same room with her, get her up in the morning, dress
her, bathe her, feed her, give her her medications, etc. It was a lot of
responsibility for a 13 yr old. My only excitement during that awful summer
was my one hour on Saturday during which I watched UFO. I even wrote to ATV
and they sent me back some pix of Ed and Mike! I still have them, and they
were mailed to me at my grandfather's home.

So, yes, UFO was a god-send to many of us who watched it during its first
run!

Wow Pam, thanks for sharing your story. I'm sure your grandmother was
very proud of you helping her like that:-)
