Re: X-COM&to

Michael
Speaking as another X-COM veteran (as well as SF games of a similar nature,
such as Dune 2000 and War Of The Worlds), the X-COM sort of approach could
(I feel) be easily made adaptable to a UFO format (he says, not being a
programmer). It would be interesting, as an example, to be faced with the
choices of where to set up SHADO bases upon the Earth, and also funding and
equipping them. Then for the "ground action" scenes the player could move
Mobiles and ground troops out of SHADO Transporters and search for the
landed UFO. Of course then the question arises as to whether or not the
player would actually be allowed to enter the UFO (as we were able to in
X-COM).

I think points would be issued based on how many aliens could actually be
captured and transported back to SHADO, along with intact UFOs and their
equipment.
