I agree with you James about A&E - they could make scads of $$ from us
eps-starved UFO fans if they only knew! I bought three UFO tapes from
amazon.com, but the forth tape is not available at the moment. A kind soul
on the egroup took pity on me and sent me a parcel with 2 eps (and I
returned the favour I admit) but we UFO fans are reduced to this because the
eps are so dang hard to get otherwise! If all 22 were available for sale to
us all - I'm sure that we'd buy 'em!
Do get into the fan fic writing thingy - it's fun and profitless (i.e.
nobody gets hurt and Carleton's copyright laws are not infringed), and there
are so many interesting "visions" of the show and the characters that it
often makes for compelling reading. I think one of the reasons UFO has
endured is because the character had very compelling private lives, which
often impacted their work for SHADO, and in turn their work impacted their
personal lives, often negatively, which served to give the characters a
great deal of depth. I tend to prefer the action aspects of UFO, and the
hardware, gadgets, etc. but that's just me. Others have gotten into the
characters' heads and explored the "inner space" rather than outer space!
