S.H.A.D.O. membership card

Robin
I was going through my childhood possessions and found a S.H.A.D.O.
membership card - U.S. Central Control, with an expiration date of
October 1974. It was signed by Ed Bishop. Does anyone else know what
I'm talking about? I have no memory of how I obtained it. (At 50,
the mind is going fast...) Robin

That was a UFO fan club in the 1970's. Perhaps you were a member?

Yes, Shado Central Control was the first UFO club I belonged to. I was quite
surprised when I found the ad for it in the back of a early issue of Starlog
which happen to have a article on UFO in the same issue(I think it was Number
5 Volume 1) but I might be wrong. I have one of those membership card in a
box somewhere. There are several people in this group, or who used to be in it
who were members.

One wonders whatever happen to D.C. Fontana and if they were the D.C.
Fontana who was in the club.

What a great piece of nostalgia to have in your possession. D.C. Fontana if it is the same person wrote several fan fic pieces for Trek, a star trek magazine and a few novels. She (I think it was a she or a husband\wife team) also wrote for Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, and believe it or not Dallas.

If I had one of those I would make a few copies for my friends and then laminate it so it could be passed down to the next generation. Just keep it and remember the great actor Ed Bishop.
