I have the book "What made Thunderbirds GO! the authorised biography
of Gerry Anderson" by Simon Archer & Marcus Hearn, publ. in 2002 by
BBC, ISBN 0 563 53481 8, snd its chapter 10 "Into the shadows" says
that SHADO was at first called UFoeDO = Unidentified Foe Defence
Organization. By the start of filming this name had changed to SHADO.
