Thank you very much for your kind reply.
Indeed, if "SOL 8" means "the speed of eight times of that of light",
it is too much fast for Interceptors to attack the Ufo.

This is just my own suggestion, but how about giving a theoretical
definition of "SOL" unit/factor?
For example, "SOL 1" is the speed of light (300,000 kirometers per
hour), "SOL 2" is the square root of two times of the speed of light,
"SOL 3" is the square root of three times of the speed of light, etc.
In this case, "SOL 8" would not be extraordinary high speed.

Anyway, a decision should be made by Gerry himself?

RE: SOL

Grant Wray
I never did the maths, but I thought that it would be like resistance values
where they use the unit as the decimal point, so SOL8 would be 0.8 times the
speed of light and 8SOL would be 8 times the speed of light. Just goes to
show!

Grant.

RE: SOL

Griff!
Yes, I thought that as well... especially as they (Lieutenant Ford and
Ellis) often talk of "decimal 8... decimal 9..." etc, which I took to mean
0.8, and 0.9 respectively.

Best, Griff
