SPORTING BLOOD

Bill Adkins
Anny Theberge Rules!

Just wanted to voice my thanks to Anny for connecting me with a source for the UFO paperbacks. I got SPORTING BLOOD yesterday and just began reading it. It seems to be a novelization of COMPUTER AFFAIR. It's well written but after the death of the pilot when Ellis is called back to Earth, she is sent to DR SCHROEDER for evaluation. Can anyone refresh my memory? Was there such a doctor in the episode or was Dr. Jackson the evaluator?

Apart from that nagging question, the book is a good read. Even though I paid more than ten times the 95-cent cover price, it was worth it to be timewarped back to the seventies when I was younger and could look forward to watching UFO every Sunday night on WEWS Channel 5 in Cleveland.

Yes, there was indeed a Dr. Shroeder in Computer Affair. He was played by
Maxwell Shaw and he also appears in the epiodes Identified, Ordeal, and
Flight Path. Also should mention that he is the father of Barnaby Shaw who
played John Straker and husband to Rose Tobias Shaw who was UFO's casting
director.
Keeping it in the family I guess.

Thanks for the replies and comments regarding my post. I'm midway through the book and the ending of COMPUTER AFFAIR has blended smoothly into the beginning of DALOTEK AFFAIR. I wish Robert Miall had been given the opportunity to novellize all the episodes. I haven't seen UFO
since the Seventies (except when INVASION: UFO) ran on cable (The Movie Channel) in 1980 and the book has been a nice refresher as I wait for the DVD release (which can't come soon enough).

Barnes & Noble just notified me that they are shipping FLESH HUNTERS. I can't wait!
