Sad News about Dave Walsh

Yuchtar-2
I searched the archives for the past couple weeks and didn't see any mention of this, but our old friend Dave Walsh apparently passed away two weeks ago! He'd been battling cancer for some time. I hadn't heard from him since late December and was becoming very worried, so I Googled him tonight and found this:

DAVID WALSH's Obituary by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

WALSH DAVID L.
Age 48, of Ambridge, formerly Pittsburgh, on Monday, February 7, 2011. Beloved husband of Frances (Capuzzi) Walsh. David was an Air Force Veteran during the Lebanon and Grenada War. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Visitation Thursday only, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at which time the celebration of life ceremony will be held in the SCHEPNER -McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME INC. 165 Noble Ave., Crafton, 15205.

He swore to me that if anything happened to him, a friend of his was supposed to email me, but I never got a message. I'm pretty sure this is him, though - everything fits. (Age, wife's name, Air Force vet, plus his job is mentioned in the guest book) I, for one, am very upset by this news.

such sad news, Dave will be missed.

For those that have been here a long time, Dave was one of the first to create a UFO Desktop theme for Windows 95, and was the author of the 'UFO Incident before Christmas' that traditionaly is posted here just before Christmas.

Dave also ran Harrington-Straker Studios and created awesome music CD's that he shared with the fans here. Dave was an awesome Gerry Anderson fan and his talents will sorely be missed. Dave had a gracious heart and was very giving. One of Dave's passions was his ferret's, some named after UFO characters.

It really is with great saddness to hear of his passing. I have been thinking about Dave over the past few years quite often.

Thanks Yuctar for the posting.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, but I offer heartfelt condolences to all who were blessed by his friendship.

Yes, that is sad news indeed... Dave was quite active in UFO fandom in
the late 1990's...

... and so young, too...

I am saddened to hear Dave has passed away. He contributed a lot to the list
back in the 90s.

Just catching up with UFO list mail so apologies for responding so late,
but I'm sorry to hear this. I remember Dave well from the time when I
first joined the list.
