Hi All,
I think I know the answer to this already, but... Back in the dark recesses of my mind there is a reference to Sky1 landing using its undercarriage to make a 'normal' landing at some airfield. Obviously, I know this is not in the TV series, but remember a reference to it somewhere, and just can't remember where I read it. Maybe it was in one of the Countdown comic strips, fan fiction or other... Can anyone help me out? Regards, Griff |
Sub smash ? With the diver part sunk, he had to return to another base.

Yes, I would tend to agree with you Bruce, "Sub Smash" sounds logical...

Yes "SubSmash" was the episode. I also seem to remember Sky1 hovering in the episode "Flight Path" but I would have to review the DVDs to be sure. A VTOL capability would make sense in order to redock with the Diver section. And with VTOL, Sky1 could set down anywhere.

Here's a fan film I found on YouTube which has one person's theory on how it happened.

Hi! I don't recall seeing Sky 1 actually landing in Subsmash. The pilot was told to go to the nearest base, but we didn't see it land.(unless I missed that part )
I have however, just got a cd which has ALL the UFO comic strips on it!! Wow! the memories!! I will go through them now ( excellent excuse!!) to look for Skydiver landing on undercarriage.. Watch this space!!.. I might even be able to get a scan of it! LtCdr (Who has been spending far too much money on UFO collectables this week!!) --- In [hidden email], "Matt" <ka1bqp@...> wrote: > > Yes "SubSmash" was the episode. Hi,
Check out Countdown Comic #27 Page 13/12 (The pages in Countdown were in reverse order) The Story is called "Arctic Affair" Sky One is shown from above approaching a runway, and in the next part of the strip Sky One has landed and Captain Carlin being arrested at gun point... In Sub-Smash, you do not see Sky One landing at all. Remember the term base could be a naval base as seen in "The Psychobombs" where you see the secret SkyDiver base. It does not show a runway at all, but is much more like a submarine pen - so the "base" implication is not really valid. Hope this helps, Griff --- In [hidden email], "Lightcudder" <l.oatridge@...> wrote: > > Hi! I don't recall seeing Sky 1 actually landing in Subsmash. Griff, I think we meant to assume that Sky 1 would fly to the nearest Airbase! Probably the one that Freeman & the Rescue Dive Team flew out from which, for all we know, could be the same base where the Mobiles & the Lunar Carrier/Module were kept.

Hi everyone,
======================= "You what?" Freeman stared at his friend, one hand still deep into the pillows of Paul Foster's three-seater couch. "I accepted," Straker pulled another miniature listening device from one of the flower vases. "What else could I do?" He got up from where he was kneeling and placed the tiny button carefully alongside the others on Foster's desk. They were making a headstart while waiting for the SHADO group, and at least in one respect things were looking up, he thought. "Ed, listen," Freeman straightened and joined him, adding another device, one eyebrow raised. "I can understand you feel loyal to George, but isn't that putting a bit much on your plate? Right now? You say she's convicted, at what? Twelve?" ======================= just to inform those interested in reading: the first chapter of Aquarius is now finished. Hi everyone,
======================= For once he passed Ms. Ealand's office without his usual off-colour jokes. Quirking her a lopsided smile, he brushed straight into Straker's studio office and engaged the elevator. Not just that he would have to eat crow and admit he had been wrong about the girl, he wondered just how he should explain to his friend what she stole and why for. Ed had never really been the ladies' man, blasé about all matters feminine, and Mary had done little to educate him there. Blast the guy, getting himself with a female ward and of that age! ======================= just to inform those interested in reading: the second chapter of Aquarius is now finished.
