Re other GA / Dr Who references - there was also a BBC novelisation
called 'The Indestructable Man' which had a lot of elements of UFO,
Captian Scarlet etc in it, including having Wendy Padbury as Zoe on
the cover in Joan Harrington's wig, and I think the base there was
beneath a TV studios, headed by a 'Commander Bishop'.
