I noticed the diecast SkyDiver has 1 Shado and then Shado 1 on either side..shouldn't it say SHADO Skydiver on the right side? (Starboard, I guess.) |

The idea is to have the word and the number in the same place on each side, so if you read them together, which you're not supposed to, because "SHADO" is an identifier that it's a SHADO craft, and the 1 means that this is Skydiver 1 (of an unknown number, but remember that Skydiver 3 was destroyed in "Psychobombs"). And there was no equivalent to the "SKYDIVER" marking on the starboard side of the original FX models, so the diecast is correct there. You can see why if you think about it: on the port side, Sky 1 has the SKY marking and Diver 1 has the DIVER marking -- put them together and you have SKYDIVER. All very neat, but what do you do on the starboard side? If Sky 1 and Diver 1 have their respective names in the same positions, when they are joined, the starboard side marking will read DIVERSKY... Or do you put the full word around the correct way on the starboard side, so that Sky 1 is labelled DIVER on its starboard side and Diver 1 is labelled SKY? Perhaps a little confusing, d'you reckon? It's easier and simpler to only put the name on the port side. <g> It's a terrific model, anyway. I'm thinking of keeping mine on my desk at work with a label "Next Year's Design Project." <eg> Phil |

But then it would have to say 'DiverSky' to get the right word on 'Sky' and on 'Diver'. But I know what you mean. The starboard side looks kind of bare... I noticed the difference cause the small Konami SD says Shado Skydiver on the starboard side, the diecast doesnt. cant wait for the PE Shado Mobile! --- In [hidden email], "Phil" <atcliffe@p...> wrote: > > > --- In [hidden email], "Brinke" <brinkeguthrie@y...> wrote: > > I noticed the diecast SkyDiver has 1 Shado and then Shado 1 on > either side..shouldn't it say SHADO Skydiver on the right side? > (Starboard, I guess.) < > > That's just standard marking placement for aircraft and (not so > often) ships.
