Not that it matters to anyone but me, but I stopped home for lunch and my PE Skydiver was waiting for me on my doorstep! Woo hoo! This thing is SWEET. I was surprised to find out the wings and tailfin on Sky1, as well as the vertical tailfins, bottom hull panel and periscope on Diver are plastic. Not that it matters. Does anyone know when FabgearUSA is coming out with the stand for Skydiver? Jeff [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Jeff, If you want to make your own stand to display it...try turning one of these acrylic bends upside down to hold it up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ViewItem&category=67703&item=4965176348&rd=1 They make them in quite a variety of sizes and if you can't find them on ebay, try www.nu-era.com (it's an online store for stores, all the display hardware available there). Samantha, Thanks for the info. I might end up going that route if it takes too long for Fabgear to release their stand, or I don't like it. I've got a couple of old acrylic picture frames I'm not using that I could heat and bend to make a stand. Never thought of that. Thanks for the idea! Sorry to hear that, Marc. : ( Perhaps what I should have said was that I would have purchased it anyway, not that it doesn't matter. The thing that DOES worry me about the mix of plastic and metal parts is the possibility of the paint not matching as it ages. Could this be an issue? I also noticed a number of spots where the paint has been touched-up. Probably a relatively normal occurence. This is my first collectible diecast, so I have no previous experience. I really want that base- what's the holdup? I get the SD Monday for Valentine's Day, and the Interceptor/UFO at the same time. Cant wait. I looked at those plastic bases, and I can't figure out how to make em work. Guys,
It'll be ready when it comes back from the caster and we get them painted - I really don't have any update at this point, unfortunately. I promise I'll post the info here when I get it. Soon, hopefully! Thanks! I won't announce a price until they're ready to ship.
