Hi all,
For those of you interested in the various Barry Gray soundtrack CD's and how they were created, the tvcentury21.com website has recently posted an interview with Ralph Titterton: http://tvcentury21.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=391 The possible upcoming Silva Screen UFO soundtrack CD is mentioned, although there is no confirmation if or when this will be released (and since this interview appears to be a couple years old, there may be newer information now) Marc |
---Hey, To ALL! I was just wondering, about that (I heard a while back
about a possible "New") version of: U.F.O, BUT does anyone know anything about any "Final" plans for this???? Thanks, Leo In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > > For those of you interested in the various Barry Gray soundtrack > CD's and how they were created, the tvcentury21.com website has > recently posted an interview with Ralph Titterton: > > http://tvcentury21.com/index.php? option=com_content&view=article&id=391 > > The possible upcoming Silva Screen UFO soundtrack CD is mentioned, > although there is no confirmation if or when this will be released > (and since this interview appears to be a couple years old, there > may be newer information now) > > Marc > |

Thanks, Leo It seems that every few years, someone announces that they are going to resurrect UFO with a new TV series or movie. However, none of these projects have ever made it very far, and I'm not convinced that it will ever happen. That said, filming is now taking place on a new version of THE PRISONER, so I guess anything is possible, although THE PRISONER was certainly more popular than UFO. The only "new" version of UFO we'll probably be seeing is the version that is eventually released on Blu-Ray disc. And if it's like the recently released Thunderbirds episodes on Blu-Ray disc, it will be cropped to a 16:9 "widescreen" aspect ratio and have some phony 5.1 surround sound. Unless ITV reconsiders after Thunderbirds suffers from negative reviews and poor sales. Marc |

Please forgive me for being overly pedantic (hey, I'm BORED), but in the case of the Gerry & Sylvia Anderson TV series, it is "UFO", as opposed to "U.F.O." : )

---Hey, Guy! Yes You are absolutly right about that...I'm just used
to doing "U.F.O.", as a "habit", since it's literally an acronym for: Unidentified Flying Object (which is what most people NOT familiar with "UFO") typically think of. But You have a very "Valid" point about that; especially since on the show they (S.H.A.D.O.) referred to them as: "U-Fo's". And of course there are two different pronunciations heard in the series itself -- sometimes they say "You-Eff-Oh", and other times "Youfoe". Marc |
Hey Marc, I'm just going by what it shows in the episodes, and on the DVD packaging, LOL!! Just my opinion, but I think those examples trump any publicity materials. But I understand your point. : )

I am not seeing UFO on any TV channels in North America.
Are the fees just too high to do so or is there simply no interest? With some of the ("original") junk being broadcast these days you'd think UFO (or even Space:1999) would be a refreshing change. "You Foe" (as pronounced) works better to describe a force that is (or is it?) determined to eradicate the human race (or at least steal all our good body parts and/or precious bodily fluids), n'est-ce pas? It is being shown on "Family Room HD", but unfortunately the only people who receive this channel are Cablevision subscribers in the New York area with HDTV receivers (it used to be available much more widely available via the Dish Network). Does anyone on this group watch it that way? It was also shown on the Sci-Fi Channel over a decade ago. Other than that, I assume that there is simply no interest. It cannot be expensive if "Family Room HD" is showing it. Marc |

Hi: My name is Lois and I get the "Family Room on Cablevision's HD
channel." I get to see it every night and extra viewing on the weekends. I do not think it is expensive to broadcast because the show is shown way too often (I am happy that they do!) I have the series on DVD so I can watch it anytime I want. Still, stopping what I am doing and checking it out each night is a thrill. It reminds me of the days when I use to see it on regular T.V. many years ago. Can't watch it enough. Hope the cable and Sat people will make it more available for the general public...maybe when the system goes digital in February 2009. One unlocated UFO is one too many...find it! Ed Bishop (our one and only Commander Straker) gone but never...never forgotten. ---I hate that Virtually NO one but "Family Room", does (or has
shown) either: "UFO", or My Favorite: "Space:1999" for over a decade now!!! Perhaps when the Broadcasts go "Digital" next year, we will have some stations "Re-running" those two Great shows!! And "Lois", I agree with You!! Leo In [hidden email], "lowiz1954" <LoWiz@...> wrote: > > Hi: My name is Lois and I get the "Family Room on Cablevision's HD > channel." It's rather incredible that UFO is one of the few that is being broadcast somewhere, and in high-definition! Marc |
