Hi all,
It looks like A&E will be releasing Space:1999 on Blu-ray disc: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Space-1999-Season-1-Blu-ray/14110 So hopefully they'll be releasing UFO at some point too... Marc |

Network has also just announced a UK Blu-ray release of Space:1999
year one, apparently with all the extras from their previous DVD release and also a 4:3 (original) aspect ratio. Given that the A&E and Network Blu-ray releases of THE PRISONER were virtually identical, it appears that this may be what's happening with Space:1999. Now if we could just get Network/A&E to produce a UFO Blu-ray release in its original aspect ratio... I have searched Network DVD site through and through and couldn't find anything about Space: 1999. Happy to hear from you that they have announced it.(and then I finally found it: http://www.networkdvd.net/index.php - much better design then A&E) It is curious how people found Network DVD color inferior to that of ITV HDbroadcasts. I always thought Network transfer was much better, and then when I compared screenshots, it turned out that ITV HD was really better and more natural... http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/main/pguide/upimhd.html All the best, Branko To: [hidden email] From: [hidden email] Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2010 11:38:18 -0700 Subject: Re: [SHADO] Space:1999 on Blu-ray disc Network has also just announced a UK Blu-ray release of Space:1999 year one, apparently with all the extras from their previous DVD release and also a 4:3 (original) aspect ratio. Well, I think Network's DVD *always* have a better cover design than A&Es... :-) > It is curious how people found Network DVD color inferior to that of ITV > HD broadcasts. I know that when I did my UFO SD/HD comparison shots on my website (http://ufoseries.com/hdtv/), I did *not* pay attention to this, and I think maybe the HD versions were unfairly criticized (not that I've had time to go back and correct these!)
