ufo car identified

a bizarre 17 ft-long film car that has surfaced in chesier is the link to
one of the more bizarre episodes in british sports car history-the
gullwingdorred quest.this was briefly offered in 1970 by property tycoon
sidney carlton's explorer motor company.but the quest,priced at L3000. sank
without a tracewith the realisation that the project was pure fictionbasedon
props made for the gerry anderson movie doppelganger,and the folling tv
series UFO. designed by gt 40 man len bailey,styled -for want a better
word-by derek meddings and built by alan mann racing (also responsible for
chitty chitty bang bang ),the film cars were nothing more exotic than
rebodied for zephyr mklvs with cortinaengines. this is one of the two built
forUFO.driven in the series by mop-haired commander straker.(ed bishop)
and it appeared on the front cover of the daily express motor show review in
1968. the other is in the cars of the stars museum in keswick. its just a big
toy really say gary siott, who bought the car three years ago and
part-dismantled it. anyone interested in owning a slice of celluloid history
