Hi all,
A week ago I posted the text of an article about the UFO cars which someone spotted in the July 2000 issue of "Classic & Sports Car" magazine. I also ordered this back issue and it just arrived today. Here is a scan: http://ufoseries.com/carArticle.jpg Hey, *this* car looks like it's in great shape... well, relative to the other ones at least... :-) -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Hi all,
Following up on the Straker's car article... I forwarded it to a couple of people, who filled me in on "the rest of the story". Turns out that this car was not used in UFO (as the article states), but it is instead the third Doppelganger car, built at the same time as Fosters & Strakers car by the same people, and featured in the movie Doppelganger (aka "Journey to the Far Side of the Sun"). Turns out that the car has already been sold to a new owner, and Jeff Smart (the maker of the video documentary "The Future Was Fantastic") has been trying to get in touch with the new owner so he can film it. -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Since Straker spent time at MIT, his car should have a vanity plate that reads "IHTFP". Teresa aka Carole Miller, Commander SHADO Deep Space Tracking Facility |
