Hi all,
Here is some amazing news -- I haven't read all of this thread myself, but am passing it on as a "must read" for fans of Straker's car: http://www.eagletransporter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146975 Marc |
Glad to hear the owner allowed Sean Robinson's team to make cast molds of the original car. I look forward to see the results. Too bad the original car's condition prevents it from being restored.

Yes, fantastic news... seems there are some 'serious' people behind this... I wonder if the motivation and impetus behind this have anything to do with the 'Movie' ??? wink, wink!
Secondly, okay I am going to say this, but I am just being honest about my feelings here: Sure, I know the owner paid good money for 'Straker's car' - and it's his to do with as he likes. But, I find it reprehensible that he decided to let it rust away to nothing rather than to allow it to be given/sold to someone that could have restored it to its rightful pristine condition. Just to watch it rust/dissolve away knowing full well its history and importance is crass and downright selfish - many people offered good money (and were denied) to save this unique car. There, I've said it! Thanks god these guys are saving it in some form. I completely agree with your thoughts. On that same note, does anyone know of the whereabouts/condition of Foster's car?

Possibly in the same place that it was 13 years ago: http://ufoseries.com/jeffSmartVideo/fostersCar1.jpg http://ufoseries.com/jeffSmartVideo/fostersCar2.jpg http://ufoseries.com/jeffSmartVideo/fostersCar3.jpg And possibly in just as bad of shape as Straker's car... Is this car going to go into production? I have always loved the schell of this car (but not interior). I wonder how much one would cost (like I could afford one!) but once, just once, I WOULD LOVE to drive up onto my works front car park with it and fuck the rest of the cars on there
It reminds a lot of the 1969 concept car Alpha Carabo. My favourite all time body schell. It too has an awful interior. Yours Stevan incidentily I travel to work about a mile on a push bike! >________________________________ > From: Jason Sweet <[hidden email]> >To: "[hidden email]" <[hidden email]> >Sent: Saturday, May 19, 2012 6:31 PM >Subject: Re: [SHADO] Re: Straker's Car Restoration Project! > > > >I completely agree with your thoughts.
