I don`t agree that Captain Waterman deserted
his post on Diver 1. Waterman was in Sky 1 @ the time, he had said it was
not possible to
re-dock with Diver 1 (it would have also put further risk to both crew,
pilot & craft to
do so), & also Waterman was ORDERED to fly
to the nearest SHADO installation & report what happened.
Besides which, doing it this way made for a better story.
