Your good self and I agree 100% completely! I do not like TSOS either (great
effects though), although it is a great deal better than TCWTL!!! Okay, I
love UFO and it has been a part of my life 'ever since I was an embryo', but
I rarely watch the 'wacky' episodes... and regard them as distant cousins to
the wonderful and original masterpiece!
I have said this many times before, but I do prefer the initial run of UFO:
I love the stark, ascetic, clean, sinister, very Gerry & Sylvia Anderson
look... I have always thought that there is great similarity between
Commander Straker and Colonel White (from CS), in fact having said that,
many design and concept similarites between UFO and CS...

Thanks, Griff, for putting it so well. To me, this episode is the very
worst that UFO was. And since this is one of the later episodes, I have to
assume that they didn't mind where this storyline took them, even though it
contradicted everything else!
Oh, and Marc? The reason no one commented on "The Sound of Silence" was
because we were doing it a favor and paying tribute to its name. Another
yuck episode! As the Wayan brothers were so fond of saying, "Hated it!"
