You asked me which TV region I watched UFO first time round?
Well, I am not sure which 'region' name it was, but I think we lived in
Dunblane, Perthshire, Scotland. Before that it would have been in the
Borders area, but I was very young then, and certainly not too aware of
Colonel Fosters manly charms!!!!
I think I enjoyed the strangeness of the series, I have always been
fascinated with series like that, The Prisoner for instance, and The Avengers
videos of which I collect too.
I agree that it would be a shame to spoil the mystery that surrounds the
aliens. It reminds me of my childhood feelings about Captain Scarlet....the
beginning sequence with the shadows and circles of light.....and then the
voice "This is the voice of the mysterons....." , I would be rigid with fear
and excitement. Needless to say I had a very vivid imagination and enjoyed
nothing more than creating my own adventures.
On the subject of Colonel Foster............again?........I know I can't help
it!! Would anyone think I was strange if I said that I also used to have a
crush on Captain Scarlet and Virgil from Thunderbirds? Is this normal? Are
there any others out there? If so, do we need therapy?
