Thanks, Pam! The last time I saw Jo in "Responsibility Seat" I was 15,
(until the other night) so my view of the character has altered somewhat
over time. I know that I enjoyed her rebellious attitude very much at that
age. When I came up with my Sheila character, she ended up with a lot of Jo
in her. So when I thought one day of having them meet, it just sort of
worked out that they would be friends.

I was at the Chicago, IL Slanted Fedora con.

Jeri Ryan was slated to speak, as well as Nog and Rom from DS9. I enjoyed
those two guys very much; they're a hoot! I didn't stay for Jeri's talk
though. Too many drooling young boys in the crowd. I had mainly gone to
the con to buy my UFO vids, so I considered everything else a bonus.

I'd love a Picard tunic, esp. the white one he wore in "Insurrection." I
make a lot of Star Trek wear out of my own clothes (i.e. sew TOS patches on
t-shirts, etc.) and now I'm into making some UFO wear as well. That lovely
SHADO patch would look great on a few t-shirts, don't you think? I have a
Bajoran earring too! Are we twins now? Instead of the working comm badge,
I have the simpler one. It looks nicer without all that bulk and doesn't
pull at my shirt.

I must confess, I read a LOT of romance books, and I get embarrassed
frequently by too much information!!! So of course, in my stories, I only
give discreet hints as to what is going on. It's so much more tasteful,
don't you think?

The character of Delores Schwarz is taken from a real person: my mom. She's
not quite as fiesty as the fake Dee, but they share the name, the red hair,
and several personality traits.

Me, too! It's the best cross-over story I've read, to put my vote in. And
I think it's because she stayed so true to the characters' personalities. I
can actually hear Jim Kirk making some of those comments! It was a
wonderful read! BTW, I''ve read yours, and it's cute. Illya was my fav for
almost a month once. *sigh* But he just couldn't compete with Ed. What
shocked me the most at this Star Trek con was that I'm always on the lookout
for a great photo of Picard. And this time, I didn't even look for one.
Very strange. Until I realized that this is the first con I've been to
since finding UFO again. Sorry, Jean-Luc. No one is sexier than Ed!
(Except perhaps my husband, but that's a personal bias.)
Yours,
Denise
