He actually looked more >youthful (and a helluva lot cuter) with the sideburns and the high >hairline. Well, in answer to your question, I think Sylvia Anderson had a say in that. At the time, wigs were very much in fashion. I can remember my mother spending quite a bit of money on a couple of decent-looking wigs. And since Sylvia was the Goddess behind Century 21 fashions, I'm sure she thought that's the sort of thing people would be wearing in the 1980's. Oh well, predicting is a chancy business anyway. I think Paul looked especially delicious in episodes like The Sound of Silence, Mindbender, Timelash and The Long Sleep. These are much later episodes and I think the wig(s) he's wearing suit him very well. Having said that, he looks delightful in his own 'high' hairline and sideburns, too. > > >BTW Anyone know how much of Mike's hair is his own these days? In the >picture on his current info page, it looks like his own, given the >amount of hair he had back in 1970. I think he's a bit on the 'wispy' side now but he looks lovely. He's finally realised just how much UFO has stuck in the minds of the people who watched UFO all those years ago. There is an interview he gave in the '80's (I believe). I'm certain you can find it on Marc's website. He is very castigating of UFO in that interview. It's almost shocking to read. I remember first reading it in 1997 and thought, "Oh well, maybe he will realise one day just how important UFO is." I'm glad to say that he has found out he still has lots of fans and we think of him with lots of affection. Having said that, I still think he needs to eat his words;-) Be careful of the words you speak for one day you may have to eat them. This was a motto in my History teacher's room in the 8th grade. How true. >FWIW I'll take bald over a rug any >day of the week. (works for Peter Gordeno :-) see his convention >shots, his shaved head is *cool*). Peter really looks lovely. I hope he's cancer-free now and it stays away. Dancers are pretty strong people and I'm sure his general health is very good. I'd love to dance with him one day but he'd have to give me lessons first! >I never had the nerve to ask him in >my correspondence.
