Anderson's biography says that when he was a schoolboy, each boy in his class
once had to write a stort story and enact it. He wrote a romance; during it he
said "I give you my heart" and pulled out of his cardigan a flat cardboard
model heart: not the usual heart shape as on a Valentine or a playing card,
but an anatomically correct human heart that he copied from a medical book!
