To Pam

shutt
Hi Pam, Thanks for the suggestion that I should write a story about
Paul and Straker as the reincarnations of Caesar and Antony,
respectively ... this would fit better with how I see the characters
than you may realize (having read their bios in Plutarch) ... and I
have a little more background than the average person to write such a
thing, too, because I did Egyptology as an undergrad (what can I say,
I was a very odd child!).

I was actually thinking of writing a UFO story last night, inspired
by some photos of Paul & Straker from Mindbender that I printed out
... I was thinking of taking the photos and using them as
illustrations for my own "never aired" episode of UFO. If only I had
time to write it out ...

In any event, if I ever do write such a story, I fear it would not be
the sort of thing one would want to see in the stacks of the UFO
fanfic library!

On a separate topic, I agree with the views stated by Andy and others
that UFO "was a victim of its own excellence"--I was really staggered
by its subtlety and psychological depth when I rediscovered it on the
Sci Fi Channel a couple of years back--about 6 weeks before it went
off the air, of course!

I think James, or somebody, mentioned figuring out the thing with the
Moonbase women from the first episode--but I missed the first episode
when the series aired in Maryland back in the early 70s. It's still
one of the episodes I haven't seen.

Take care,

Steve

SHADO Librarian
As the Librarian, choosing what does and does not fitin the Library is my
perview.
For the record, only one story has ever been turned down for the Library -
because it was not an original treatment of the subject in any discernable
way.

Jee! Take time off the job and do it!
Or do it on the job! ;-)

Hmm... I think you might be surprised!
<evil grin>
There are readers out here who like diversity in fan fic!
Anyway, you only have to contact our esteemed Librarian and check with her!

While we're at it: 3 new stories in the Library!
2 by dragon and 1 by Alison!
All good stuff!
