Total Running Time of Episode

Ken Parker <shadokp@attbi.com>
I just received my UFO DVDs from Blackstar (postcards included) and I
noticed straight away that the start music was much faster than what
I remembered.

A few years back I got a bunch of episodes that were actually taped
off a PBS channel (and hosted by some hippee astronaut and a robot of
some kind.) Those episodes were severaly sped up - to the point
where the cast sounded like mice. Model shots looked incredibly fake
due to this. This must have brought the total time to under 40
minutes.

My question is "What is the standard running time of let's
say, "Identified." Accordying to my DVD player - it is 49:08 which
seems to be a bit on the short side. Anyone know for sure.

During the episode the speeding up doesn't seem to bother me as much
but it is the music that I notice the most.

Other than that I am completely happy with what Carlton has done.
The extras are great - I am glad I purchased a Region Free Pal DVD
player.

On my old Japanese UFO laserdisc, IDENTIFIED runs for 51:20 (according
to the counter). On my new Carlton UFO DVD, IDENTIFIED runs
for 49:07 (according to the counter). If I did my math correctly,
this is a difference of 4.5%. I'm not sure why this is 4.5%
instead of 4%... could the counters be off by a total of 20
seconds?
