Traffic Plummets on the UFO Series Home Page!

Hi all,

I just looked at my website logs, and I see that my traffic
plummeted on the day that Yahoo disabled my old "ufo.simplenet.com"
address. Traffic was 1/3 of normal on Thursday. On Friday it
was up to 1/2 of normal. I guess more people were using that
old address than I thought!

For those of you who haven't been here that long, I had
to change from "ufo.simplenet.com" when Simplenet was
bought out by Yahoo. The new address became active
about 20 months ago, but the old address continued
to work until Thursday. Unfortunately, the old address
seems to be the one that most people have bookmarked,
and is also the one that shows up the most on web page
links and in search engines.

Oh well, I'm sure people will find it again sooner or
later...

I've had Javascript in place on the main pages of my frame capture site
since the changeover, which nags people to update their bookmarks if they
reach the pages via the old URL. I'd like to get rid of it, but Yahoo
*still* hasn't disabled the old Simplenet URL for mine, and I'm sure it's
still turning up in search engines.

Well, I'm still getting spam from companies telling me shado.simplenet.com
needs better search engine ratings. So I know my old addy is still out
there.
