Re: UFO Comic Issue#0 Cover Artwork!

Michael
I can't speak for other comic companies but, in our case, the #0
issue of UFO (as well as Supercar and Fireball XL5) serve
as "bridges" between the series and the comic stories.

If it helps, think of UFO #0 as a "lost episode" from the original
series.

It most certainly is, with Anthony Taylor doing a follow up mini-
series.

But there's nothing wrong with a special mini or maxi series entitled
SHADO . . . or a graphic novel.

I was also hoping for more of a nod to the Countdown/TV 21 style
artwork. I would hate to see this venture go the way of the Fanderson
UFO script book - which I understand did'nt meet with sales
expectactions they had.

Has anybody body seen the "the art of Fireball" documentry that was a
extra on the Fireball XL5 DVD boxed set? Now that what I call comic
artwork.

Well, I think her name is spelled Diane Annunziata (Hope it's spelled
right on the comic!) and Michael is being modest - he helped quite a bit
on the script for issue #0.

Well, if we're giving out trophies for modestry, a nice one should be handed
to Yuchtar as, in spite of any tweaking I might've given the script, Diane
deserves credit for coming up with a story that could've been lifted
straight out of the UFO production schedule (I can't wait to see the
rendition of the running battle between the UFO and the Mobiles).

>PS:

>LOL! What's a Shiny?

While in England last year Kez Wilson and I caught this Saturday morning
children's show where (presumably preschool . . . we hope) viewers were
enticed to answer questions. Correct answers were rewarded with a Shiny,
and whoever received the most Shinies at the end of the show was entitled to
receive the Supreme Shiny!

Yes, that's true, they used to have stickers on their albums
saying 'no synthesisers'. I mentioned it to John Deacon when
I met him a few years ago. He laughed.

Do you get royalties for appearing on a comic based on your TV show?
I wonder what the rate is, if they do.

HLJ may not be able to fill pre orders the Konami SID

lunadude2001 <russell_smith@ntlworld.com>
In reply to this post by Yuchtar-2
Just surfed into my account at HLJ and saw the following note:

"PLEASE NOTE: Demand for this item has been huge worldwide, and at
this time we do not know if Konami will be supplying us with enough
pieces to cover all
pre-orders. We have therefore regretfully stopped accepting orders for
it. (That's the only reason why its production status is marked as
"Out-of-Production" on this
page.) If you have an existing order for this item with us, we will do
our best to fill your order, but please understand that we cannot
guarantee it will be possible."

Re: HLJ may not be able to fill pre orders the Konami SID

Phil-3
Well! Maybe if my orders manage to get filled I can sell these SIDs and
send my kids to college on what I get for them on EBAY???

; - )

Actually, it kind of stinks but at least the sales figures on these are
such that a market does exist and hopefully Konami or somebody will keep
producing such cool items.

On a related note I read my Sci Fi Super pack (10 pieces) have shipped
today! So at least I get an eagle and hopefully not too many Terrorfish!

Italian UFO DVD Website Now Online!

Marc Martin
Administrator
Hi all,

I see that the Italian UFO DVD website is now online:

http://www.ufodvd.it/main.htm

They list the contents of the first 4 volumes of the
DVDs. It contains the Gerry Anderson commentary,
the behind-the-scenes & production photos from the
Carlton DVDs, the deleted/extended scenes from
the Carlton and A&E discs.

It appears that the following extras are new:
a more detailed guide to UFO merchandise, with
an emphasis on Italian merchandise. There are
also transcripts (or scripts?) from the episodes
(?). And film trailers for the Italian UFO
compilation movies. Plus, the "deluxe" version
of the discs contains an extra disc featuring
the entire film "Invasion:UFO", plus an interview
with Ed Bishop, and images from a presskit...
I probably missed something here, as I'm using
the AltaVista translator to understand what
it's saying!

Also, it will contain a 16 page booklet,
2 Italian dubbing tracks for episodes which
were dubbed twice, English and Italian
subtitles, and 5.1 audio on the Italian
track.

Also, I was under the impression originally
that this was to contain all 26 episodes, but
instead it appears to merely be the first
part, containing 12 (not 13) episodes.

For those who understand Italian...

Marc Martin

Hi all,

For anyone who can understand Italian, can someone tell me exactly
what this says:

--------------
Contenuti ROM
Transcript originali degli episodi contenuti nel disco in formato immagini jpg
--------------

I'm curious if they are including scans of the original UFO scripts, or what?

Thanks!

Re: For those who understand Italian...

I'd say that was it -- but then again it could be an idiom that only a true
Italian speaker would know. :)

At first I was fearing that these could be the transcripts from Marc's site,
but then I remembered there are several very hard core Italian UFO fans who
probably have either original scripts or copies.

Either way, I'm sure Marc is getting this set so he can let us know. :)

Well, we'll know sooner than that... I get the impression that the
deluxe UFO DVD set is *already* available to the folks who are going
to the Italian "Deepcon 4" convention this weekend, as Ed Bishop
and Mike Billington are there to sign copies of it!

http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=it_en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.deepcon.it%2FF_DeepCon.htm

The rest of us will have to wait until April 16th...
