Hi all,
As you may have noticed, I have been rumbling away for quite some time developing new CGI effects for a possible/plausible UFO remake. I have given it the working title of UFO 2020, based on the idea that UFO was set ten years ahead, and 2018 sounded a bit naff! I have researched quite a bit, including this group, and it seems the idea of a "UFO - The Next Generation" concept seems to be the most popular. It would allow us to possibly even bring in cast from the original, (Sadly, the few who are left) I am working on a pastiche of the original title sequence, but with new effects shots etc, to hopefully drum up sufficient interest to work towards producing a 45-60min pilot episode, that may even lead towards getting commercial interest. It must be pointed out though that I intend to work with professionals, rather than just a fan base, as I find they tend to be rather "hammy", and overdone. However, if anyone has any good story concepts or treatments, I would love to hear from them. All the best Rob Neal PS: I have created a new folder in the files area that will contain updates as and when. I have dropped in a basic titles ident to get it started. |

I wish you luck with that!
I hope you've got a good budget. > It must be pointed out though that I intend to work with > professionals, rather than just a fan base, as I find they tend to be > rather "hammy", and overdone. --- In [hidden email], "Rob Neal" <tryptych@...> wrote: > > Hi all, > As you may have noticed, I have been rumbling away for quite some time > developing new CGI effects for a possible/plausible UFO remake. > > I have given it the working title of UFO 2020, based on the idea that > UFO was set ten years ahead, and 2018 sounded a bit naff! > > I have researched quite a bit, including this group, and it seems the > idea of a "UFO - The Next Generation" concept seems to be the most > popular. It will be hard to get over the fact that Albert Hastings' wonderful vision of UFO continuation is not going to be done. That would be a certain hit - I saw some of the papers describing the concept. A work of a genius! I love the opening credits too. Great job.
I don't know if it is appropriate to post this here, but I did opening credits for Star Trek using the music from UFO. If you are interested in checking it out here is the YouTube link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GONeqPxh4d4 If anyone is interested in having a copy of it, I can upload the original file to this group.
