I've recently obtained batches of 'Countdown' and 'TV Action', which ran the UFO strip
in the UK, and was interested to read in a special offer during late 1971 that 'owing to
the variation in regional showing of the UFO TV programme, it has not been possible
to produce a new annual'.
I was in the London region, and have read 'UFO' started a whole year later there (late
1971 as opposed to late 1970) but is there anyone else from the London region who
recalls reading 'Countdown' before UFO started? I could have sworn I was reading the
strip at the same time the series was on - but I also recall one grandparent had
Southern (south coast and Kent for non-UK members), and this started around Feb
1971, the same week in fact that UFO started there.
