I'm not sure if there are any UFO blooper reels about, but I keep
noticing little cock-ups here and there. I did actually see a website that listed them all at one time. Anyone know any? The classic one I love is in "Thunderbirds" where a radar truck comes out of Thunderbird 2's pod and it smacks the radar dish on the top of the door of the pod. Hang on, did I say Thunderbirds? Sorry. The classic one I love is in "Computer Affair" where the control mobile drives off the plane and it smacks the radar dish on the top of the door of the aircraft. You would have thought Derek Meddings would have got that right by then? Incidentally, EVERY show features the battered mobile in the title sequence. One other point to ponder... SkyDiver is seen with the lettering SKY on Sky One, and DIVER on the ship. However, you only ever see the sub travelling from right to left. What does it say on the other side? YKS-REVID? or a reverse font? nothing? Maybe that's why Gerry Anderson lost all his hair. |

Well, there's this one: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Zone/2992/ > One other point to ponder... SkyDiver is seen with the lettering SKY > on Sky One, and DIVER on the ship. There are photos of the other side of the Skydiver model. I don't have them handy at the moment, though... Marc |
There is nothing printed on the starboard side of the PE Skydiver, FWIW...

Here is a photo of one of the original models: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/other/sky_lside.jpg It does say 'SHADO SKYDIVER' in small lettering near the periscope... the PE Skydiver merely says 'SHADO' in larger lettering. The Konami says 'SHADO SKYDIVER' however (it seems that the tiny Konami models are sometimes more accurate than the larger PE models!) Marc |
I'm going blind. From 10 feet away, I saw no lettering on the starboard side of my PE Skydiver. Now that I look closer, I see a '1', with 'SHADO' printed next to it. My bad...

Here is the back cover of the new "Century 21 FX" book by Alan Shubrook -- you can see that both sizes of the Skydiver model shown here featured the same (tiny) 'SHADO Skydiver' by the periscope: http://ufoseries.com/temp/c21fxBack.jpg Marc |
Sure enough. Figures that PE got it wrong.
