Well I suppose from the point of view of optimism,we are diametrically opposed.A fairly
healthy and vibrant state of affairs I,d say.

Perhaps we should re-visit the subject of HD-DVD in 18 months time.

Although in closing I would say the difference in VHS and DVD, quality wise was a factor of x2.
The quality improvement of HD-DVD over DVD is between X3 and X6.Hardly less dramatic.

What I have seen of HD-DVD I would say it is closer to X0.5, but it
will depend on source material, newer material will look good, archive
material will look less so - and generally just highlight the
deficiencies of the original production values.

I don't doubt for a minute there will be a market for HD-DVD,but I
predict the same sort of relationship as HDCD has with CD, they will
coexists.
