UFO Made in Canada

I just found out that Eureka has been renewed for another 13 episodes.
For those unaware, it's a quirky science fiction show made in Vancouver.
It is an excellent show IMO.

Canada (federal, provincial and regional tax grants/incentives for video
production, mostly) seems to fund a lot of sci-fi stuff that eventually
gets sold worldwide. Some of it is, err, "not that good" however.

So what's the hold-up for a new UFO made in Canada? IP issues?
