UFO Movie

travis300f
Does Anyone know what the status is of the ufo movie that has been talked about? If they muck it up the fans should protest in front of
the studio headqurters and the theatres.
                          Thank You

Not heard any real "news" in over a year... there are rumors that they continue
to work on it, but it hasn't started filming...

Hmmm, probably not enough UFO fans left, and even so, how could you get them
all to agree that the movie was "mucked up"?  (for example, most people seemed
to like that recent STAR TREK movie, but I personally hated it)

I'm with Marc on not liking the last Trek movie by JJ Abrams - what a travesty! Not even really a storyline either. If a UFO movie turned out as badly as that, I'd be ready to picket my local theatre! I recently read all the original Sherlock Holmes books and I can say that the 2 new Sherlock Holmes movies with Downey Jr and Law are like the last Trek movie - bearing no resemblance to the original characters in any way. Not that I dislike Downey Jr and Law - they're great actors and I found they had great chemistry on screen - but for Holmes purists, I can see why they didn't like these newer films. Hence, a similar screw-up involving the UFO characters and story would be really sad, esp after all these years of the fans waiting for something "new".

Well, firstly, I would say if you don't like the feature versions of Sherlock Holmes, try and check out the BBC production "Sherlock" - written and produced by the Doctor Who writers of Steven Moffatt and Mark Gatiss. It really is way better than the recent movies, and it is set in modern times rather than the usual clichéd smog-bound London. In a strange quirk of fate, the lead actor in that show, Benedict Cumberpatch, has now been cast as the villain in the new Star Trek Movie. Now all we need is Moffat to get off Doctor Who, and Cumberpatch to take over from the current Godawful Matt Smith...

I also forgot to mention that Benedict Cumberpatch is the son of Wanda Ventham (Col. Lake) in UFO.  - Wheels within wheels, eh?
