UFO NIGHTLY

Brian Serridge
Am I the only person who prefers to watch UFO in the early hours of the morning, say from 1am to 5am? It just doesn't work for me in the afternoons or early evening. Difficult to explain why!

You are not alone! The Cat With 10 Lives, The Long Sleep etc are best aftermidnight. The seance... the 'trip' at the farmhouse... akin to horror films in a way. There's something dislocated/ unsettling about them which suitsviewing at such unearthly hours. I can see why some of them would suit Sunday lunchtimes - Confetti Check springs to mind, more straightforward stories (takes me back to the repeats in 1976 and 1986) - but the creepy ones are definite late-night fare. Preferably without interruptions from mildly disinterested other halves!

Wow I feel guilty, I watch it with my 2 high school friends while drinking beer and eating Chinese food (It's a long story). Except for the beer, nothing has changed in 35 years!

I have never tried to get my wife to watch. I know the limits of our relationship :)

My wife and I really enjoy watching UFO, mostly for that '60's version of how the future should look.  Love it.  Actually have most of our house looking that way.  My wife pointed out, "That Gerry Anderson certainly is quite a butt-man".  "What do you mean?", I asked.  "Look at all the shots of women's rear ends as they walk away".  (especially episode one)  You know, being one myself I never really noticed, but there certainly are quite a few of those shots in UFO.  God bless you Gerry Anderson!  Somethings just never go out of style.  Cheers Gerry!

As we approach the 15th anniversary of this discussion
group, it always surprises me when someone comes up
with an observation that (I don't believe) hasn't
been discussed so far... :-)

Not really sure why the message from David Richards, suggesting that I try dressing up as Gay Ellis to persudae my husband to watch UFO with me, went directly to my Spam box!!!
Sorry to disappoint you David - but I only have a Lt Uhura outfit!!!  (Star Trek fan as well as UFO! Scandalous) But you have given me something to think about!
