Generaly speaking I would agree. But if UFO was and continues to be important part of one's life, then it is surely more than reasonable to be heavily critical of that sort of fiction. In a sense it smears the things that made UFO important for me.It might not bother some.It might not be important. But if it isn't important then I can rubbish and condemn it to my hearts content (without being pesonally abusive) and nobody can have any complaints. Such Slash Fiction is comparable to those whose interests lie in haunting the internet looking for celebrity nudes and morgue shots of famous people. Another form of exploitation and the least likeable. Mark UK [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Hi, Mark,

Well, no. The reasonable thing to do is not read it. I'm all for liking what you like and not liking what you don't, but nobody forces you to engage with any form of fanfic you're not interested in. They don't come and pee in your cheerios for being intrigued by Gay Ellis, or how Moonbase can track UFOs at superluminal speeds, or why the aliens don't just come at the Earth from the opposite side from where-ever the Moon happens to be. Why should you go after them for their interests? -- Jonathan Andrew Sheen http://www.leviathanstudios.com Leviathan of the GEI (Detached.) [hidden email] "What'dya expect?
