UFO Soundtrack Album Update!

Hi all,

I asked Chris Bentley of Fanderson whether or not the upcoming UFO
soundtrack LP was a bootleg or legit -- here's his reply:

---
Hi Marc,

Yes, it is all perfectly legit and is licenced through Carlton. Fanderson
assisted by providing them with the newly-engineered and cleaned-up masters
of the material that they needed from the work that we did on our CD
soundtrack album.

However, it isn't really correct to describe it as a soundtrack LP - my
understanding is that it's more like a 12-inch single of the theme with a
bunch of other short tracks to fill it out a little (you'll notice that all
of the other tracks are actually only short individual cues lasting 60 to 90
seconds at the most - the longest is probably 'The Trip' from 'The Long
Sleep'). It's a bit misleading to advertise it as a soundtrack LP since the
total running time won't be more than about 20 minutes, more like an EP
really.

It will only be available on vinyl - a CD release would infringe Silva
Screen's license to produce a commercial-release UFO soundtrack album (which
they intend to do in due course). I gather the intention is that the vinyl
release of the theme enables it to be played in nightclubs and sampled in
dance music, so the target market for the record is primarily DJs.

Please note that fans who already own the Fanderson soundtrack CDs will not
find anything new on this vinyl release, but it will make quite a nice
collector's item nonetheless - even if no one has a turntable to play it on
any more!

Cheers,
Chris
