UFO Theme

I have the UFO theme on a double CD called "Cult Fiction Royale" which has lots of themes from many 60s/70s TV shows and films. Marc, if you are a collector of cover versions of the UFO theme, you may be interested in a new release on Twist Records by The Solar Flares "Can't get you Out of my Mind". One of the B-sides "Lunar Girl" is a total rip-off of the theme music. I quite often e-mail the guy that wrote it as he is a big UFO,Gerry Anderson, Barry Gray fan. The label is Anglo/German but the band are from Kent for details on how to order see http://www.medwaymagic.org.uk/index.htm

I could get a copy of the CD and upload it to the files section easily enough, if anyone would be interested.I'm sure the band would not mind. I can get permission if necessary.
A CD-R of all the versions would be good. Who have you got doing cover versions?

Yes, I have that one too, but that UFO theme just sounds like it was
recorded off of a videotape of an episode. Even the MP3's on my
website are of better quality than this...

Hey. that's great! The web page indicates that "Lunar Girl"
is only available as a 7" single, but you've indicated that it's
on CD? I'd prefer buying a CD if it's possible... ?

This looks different than the various fan-produced UFO soundtrack CD-R's
that have been seen in recent years. Specifically the line:

That was my original thought too, but no fan-produced UFO soundtrack
CD-Rs I've seen could claim to feature "dynamic, pristing sound
quality". Also, the other CD-Rs have a different number of tracks --
one has 43, one has 81, and one has 86. So 72 is unique, although
they could have simply removed some tracks from one of the other
CD's.

Anyway, I've e-mailed the seller asking a few questions, so perhaps
we can figure out what exactly this CD is...

Sounds great. Let me know if you hear anything. Like you I won't bid on it.
But I hate to see others do this sort of thing. There are some audio
programs that you can enhance the sound quality, that was my thought.

Barry Gray estate. Looks like he's attempting to keep Barry's music
off the market -- the expensive way!

Of course, it might not be possible to outbid Ralph -- perhaps he put
in a maximum bid of a million dollars, and has no intention of paying
the seller anything for the unauthorized recording! Although, if
Ralph is merely trying to shut down the auction, he could just notify
eBay about the unauthorized recording, and they'll remove the auction.

Oh, I don't know... is $150 too much to pay for otherwise
unobtainable UFO music? Hmmm....

I also got a reply from the seller this morning. Based on his reply,
it sounds like it *is* a copy of "UFO: The Unofficial Soundtrack"
from a few years ago. Just with different cover artwork & fewer
tracks.

Although I don't think he's trying to rip anyone off -- says he still
has the receipt and name of the place he bought it from!

Now that sounds terribly suspicious to me. I have receipts of my fridge, my
deepfreezer, my oven, my TV, my computer, etc - all the stuff one buys and
has a guarantee on - in case they break down. But who keeps receipts of
everything they buy?
