UFO Trading Cards

Anthony D-2
Hi all,

I asked a dealer on the Web if he would be carrying these cards -- this is the
info he provided me. I have never purchased from him, so I can;'t make a
recommendation but I am just making the info available as a reference point.

Anthony
------------------
UFO
Cards, Inc.
November/December

The 100 card base set is filled with full color images, information and
facts, plus chase cards including Future Fashion Foils, Costume Cards,
and Autograph Cards!

100 card base set is made up of:
78 Episode cards (3 for each episode)
10 SHADO Character Cards
8 SHADO Vehicle Cards
2 SHADO Complex Cards
2 Checklists

Signatures include:
Ed Bishop as Ed Straker
Shane Rimmer as Bill Johnson
Jeremy Wilkin as Gordon Maxwell
Stuart Meyers as an Alien
Wanda Ventham as Virginia Lake
and
Gerry Anderson, producer

There will also be an official binder, limited to 500 worldwide.

This set will be VERY limited, only 2500 boxes worldwide.

Box: $74.00
Binder: $25.00
12 box case: $789.00

Of course, the set composition might change as time goes by, but I think
this is going to be pretty close to the finished product at this point.
I've also been told than December is much more realistic for this
release.
I have an odd policy on pre-orders in that I don't require payment until
the product is ready to ship. That way I'm not holding on to anyone's
money if a product is delayed for months.

Feel free to pass this along as you see fit, and let me know if there
are any questions you might have on this or any other area I might be of
help with.

Hi,
I haven't purchsed trading card boxed sets before - if I purchase
a "box" for $74 will all the cards available in the set be there? Or
is it pot luck?

Thanks,
Ralph

Bleathman
Hi,

Graham Bleathman has done 200 black and white sketching cards and 50 colour
sketching cards for the UFO set.

The release date (according to Graham's contract) is within the next three
weeks.

Apparently there are sets for Stingray and Fireball being released at the
same time.

The Cards Inc website is: http://www.cardsinc.com/

Hi Katie,

Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is a "sketching card"? I assume that
these must not be part of the regular 100 card set?

Marc-
Sketch cards are cards with original drawings or paintings done right on
the card. Essentially it's a piece of original art that's one of a kind
(though some artists use a lightbox for such jobs and trace the sketches
from a master drawing). It's still an original either way.

Hi Marc,

The sketchings cards are all original artwork which Cards Inc insist are
hand drawn and are 'one offs'.

However since there are often several hundred black and white ones done at
any one time, several can end up being similar.

They are scattered throughout the sets and tend to sell on eBay for about
£30 each!

You have to be careful with the colour ones which are sold on eBay, as we
have seen black and white cards (which Graham has done) being sold on eBay
as coloured cards. It is quite obvious to Graham and I that they have been
coloured in by some one else. You can usually tell because Graham uses
coloured pencils and those on eBay had been coloured in with crayons.

Ralph:

Good question. I am not sure about Cards, Inc policy on this, but usually you
would get a complete "common set" from a box -- you may get some of the chase
cards too (autographs, sketch cards, etc) though not all. Hope that helps!

I guess in summary - not all the cards, but the most common should be there
(as you say 'pot luck'). :)
