Hi all,

In the UK, Volume 3 of "Sci-Fi and Fantasy Modeller" will
be available on September 19th. This will contain a new
interview with Mike Trim about the "dirtying down" of
the models in UFO, plus a review of Mike Trim's new book
"The Future was Fab", plus it also has a review of the new
talking Gay Ellis from Product Enterprise.

Here are some small thumbnails...

AKA drybrushing, "weathering" and diluted washes to bring out detail in
scale miniatures. You see, when miniatures are filmed, photographed or
seen in real-life, the light particles striking the object are too big
to cast the right-sized reflections and shados to the human eye.

Similarly, this is why models of ships in water often don't "look quite
right". The water molecules and fluid dynamics are still life-sized
while the "ship" is drastically downsized.

Oh wait, did I get that first part right?
