UFO content on BBC Thunderbirds documentary

dave_copley
BBC 4 yesterday transmitted a documentary about Gerry Anderson's
career. Although the programme largely focuses on Thunderbirds, and is
very interesting in it's own right, there is some UFO content about
3/4 the way through.

The BBC recently launched a free of charge iplayer 'watch again'
service to allow for catching up of missed programmes via the
internet. The relevant link is as follows, with the programme
watchable for the next 6 days. For copyright reasons, this might not
work for IP addresses based outside the UK.

Yes, this won't play for me... :-( perhaps someone
can give us a description of what the UFO portion
of this program is?

Hardly anything. There was a segment of the opening titles and theme. Gerry
Anderson expressed his relief at moving away from puppets. Then there was a
similar very quick peek at the opening titles and theme of Space:1999 Year
1. Both were really just to fill in the gaps around the Supermarionation
shows. There was no mention, as I recall, of THE PROTECTORS or SPACE
PRECINCT for example at all.
